Judging

After a phone call from a friend last night, Tommie and I were discussing how one should handle it if one of your friends acts in a way that you don't agree with.

I'm from the view point that the person is a grown-up who can make his own choices.  That I have no right to judge the person even if I don't agree.  Even if I would not have made the same choices.  I will most probably say that I would not have reacted the same way but I would not tell my friend how to act.  It's not my decision to make.

This goes for my internet friends as well.  I have many friends who I don't have much in common with but who I have grown to love regardless.  Many of them have different lifestyles from mine and as long as they don't abuse anyone I will not tell them how to act.

Tommie says I'm just a coward and won't stand up for my believes lol  I don't agree.  My believe, morals, lifestyle is just that.  MINE.  Not someone else's.  Just as I wouldn't want them to judge me on my relationships, the way I raise my kids, my choices, I won't judge theirs.

Anyway - this weekend has been super relaxing.  The boys went to sleep over at my folks last night (except for Zander of course) and I used this opportunity to teach Zander to roll. YES at the ripe old age of 6 months he is still not rolling lol  There are ways though!  As you can see from this video clip.  Excuse the quality.  Night time is not the best time for taking videos.

This morning Zander and I have done nothing.  We were still in our pajamas at 10 am.  He took his morning nap and I took that time to do some girlie beauty routine.  A bit later we will photograph a new baby at the hospital (I do a web page for one of our local hospitals).  This afternoon we will probably go to the rugby field (of the school close to us) and the let boy run wild Smile

Please do me a favour.  Pretty please.  Send me an e-mail.  I would love to have the e-mail addresses of those reading my blog.  That way if you ask me a question in the comments, I can reply to you via e-mail.  I would also love to know who you are and where you are from.  Many of you don't have the time to leave messages.  I understand that.  Just this once though - please e-mail me?  meldebruyn @ telkomsa . net

Great video clip!
I've been thinking about the judging thing and sometimes it is important to talk to our friends about whether their actions are God-honouring or not. Not in a judgemental sense but more with a hand reaching out to them. It does depend on your relationship though.
The Bible says to admonish one another.
Judging is when you stand there and point the finger and say "Bad person!" Love is getting alongside them and saying, "Let's make this right".
Sorry for the long comment. I've been judged and it isn't pretty and it hurts but I've had genuine friends point out wrong things in my life and offered me grace and though it hurts, it helps.

I Love the new pic of the boys.

I hate it when people judge me and try not to judge others - it is not my place - only God has the right to judge.

I could have stayed in my pj's the whole weekend.

I know you have my mail add. Work is being hectic about mail & internet usage, so I only usually check out your blog at night via my cell phone. haven't got the knack of posting replies.

Hope you have a fab time at Klein Kariba.

Mrs D said exactly what I was going to say

The bible says to judge not lest you be judged.

i've been judged....not fun. I've even judged, but it's not my business to do so.

To me, to judge is to impose my beliefs on others and I ain't got no right to do that.
