My mom's back is still extremely sore. Even though I don't get why she is not going to the doctor, I do hope it gets better soon. I'm working from home today. I wasn't booked to see any clients, as I only do financial statements on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However...
.... Quintus has a friend here who slept over as well. Man can they be loud! Poor Zander is lucky if he can take a 30 minute nap without being woken up. The PlayStation is set up right behind my desk, so I'm working with the boys behind me. Makes concentrating rather interesting.
I thought I would take a break from work and get the boys away from the PlayStation - I thought I'd take them to the Wimpy for lunch. There wasn't even parking place! I gave that up as a bad decision and came straight home lol
- We don't often have mist here in Klerksdorp. This morning though the mist was so thick that you could hardly see in front of you. I thought it was beautiful. I'm rather liking all the funny weather we are having.
- Especially so since we had pancakes last night. We always have pancakes when it rains. Why stop just because it's winter right lol
- I can't believe it's Thursday already. With being so busy, it seems as though the weeks just fly by. Just two more weeks to the cut of date for tax return submissions.
- Even though our work doesn't stop then, not by any means we do seem to relax more. Doing all the returns for those who asked for extension.
- The mother of Tommie's brother-in-law passed away last night. Totally unexpected. Such a wonderful woman too. I remember us visiting them on our honeymoon. She made enough lunch to feed a small army. She practically begged us to stay over. They lived in this huge home on the beach. They sold their home about 3 years ago to live near their kids.
Jason loves to read. It is absolutely his favourite thing. Okay, so he can't read yet but he loves it when we read to him and you will often find him paging through a book. Seems like he is getting Zander hooked as well.

Firstly let me explain my previous post. Like my friend, Wenchy, I hate to be misunderstood. I'm not unhappy with my life. I'm totally in love with my husband. With the path my life took, this is the best life I could have.
In retrospect though, I should have gone for the rich type. Partied more. Studied less. Hope that makes more sense :)
- It is darn cold here today. I swear it looks as though it wants to snow. It's just weird. As I'm typing this it is raining outside. It doesn't rain here in the winter.
- I have three boys (yes I know you know that) they all have pink eye though (bet you didn't know that!)
- That makes putting in drops interesting. I line them up on the bed lol
- My mom hurt her back seriously. She cannot walk at all. She had a back operation 14 years ago. She is being stubborn and won't go to the doctor. I don't like doctors either but sometimes you just have to do, what you have to do.
- If you live in the Gauteng area, check out Broom Girls new venture. Please do support her.
- I'm having some epileptic attacks again. Those small ones. I can't decide if I should increase my medication, as I'm pretty sure it is caused by the extra stress we are experiencing at work at the moment. I tried to phone my doctor to discuss this with him today but he is too busy. Hopefully I'll be able to get hold of him tomorrow.
- Talking about stress and work, I had better get back to both

I truly think this is the truth. Good girls just never win. They always end up living average lives, with average men, earning average income. They mostly don't take chances. Good girls study hard, don't socialize much and end marrying the guys that are "left over" (lol that just doesn't sound right) They do the boring jobs.
What is my point here you might ask. Well, see, last night Tommie told me that our friends (and I use that term lightly) just phoned to say they are on their way to New Zealand and Australia to see if they can immigrate. Now this got me thinking. It's actually the husband going to find a job. His wife is tagging a long to shop. Seeing this as only a vacation. Let's look at her history:
- She was one of those girls at school that hardly studied and partied most of the time.
- At 'varsity she did a BA degree (one of the easiest degrees to get)
- She got a job on the mine through connections her dad had. Good paying of course, helping her get better positions as the time passed.
- She had enough boyfriends but always went back to the guy who is now her husband.
- She had a daughter at a young age, not her husband's child, although he is raising her as his own.
- She finally decided to settle down with him and ever after getting married she cheated on him.
- She stopped working shortly after their marriage.
- They live in a mansion. He earns loads of money.
- She basically made a good life for herself by not paying much attention to school or work and focusing on getting the right husband.
Same with friend B. She did not go through all the unfaithfulness of my previously mentioned friend, although she did the same type of thing. Did not worry about studying much, just enough to pass. Did an easy degree (probably just to meet guys at 'varsity lol). Chose a great looking guy as a husband, who earns lots and lots. Live in mansion. Owns her own business but she's not involved in it too much.
Am I jealous? Heck yes! Don't get me wrong. I totally and completely love Tommie. I'm not thinking I should not have married him. With the way my life went, I made the right decision to marry him. However. I should have studied less. Partied more. Gone to 'varsity instead of studying my butt of after hours. Met a hunk of a doctor type guy and married him. Not having to worry about money, working and how I will afford 'varsity for my kids so that they can meet a girl who has a dad with loads of money. Or by that time, my boys will have to look for a gorgeous girl with a great degree as they will end up being stay-at-home-dads. Things are on the change right?

IT. IS. COLD. Although I must admit that I am handling the cold better this year. I actually look at the forecasts to see if more cold weather will be coming our way. I cannot say why, as I normally detest winter. I quite like it this year. Here's two photos that I took in our yard this morning.

-
School holidays have started. Well the schools closed on Friday. So far everyone is coping well with the holidays lol
-
This is the holiday that I battle most with keeping the boys entertained. It is extremely busy at work, so I can't do things with them. By the time we get home it's too cold to play outside. So they get cabin fever. Not good.
-
Quintus has gone to work with Tommie. Tomorrow Jason will.
-
That way they don't get too much of each other and by the time we get home they have missed each other enough to have a good time.
-
I have realized that Zander loves music. When he fusses (if you can call it that) and I put on music, he calms right down and goes to sleep.
-
My hands are frozen. Don't know how I'm going to complete the tax forms. Wish all the forms were online, so that I wouldn't have to write!
I hope you all have a lovely warm and sunny Monday!

This morning I decided to join Tommie on his Sunday morning golf trip. I haven't gone with in ages, first saying that I'm too far pregnant and then that Zander was too small. I think I have run out of excuses. Truth be told though, I do enjoy it every once in a while (like twice a year or less!)
The Sunday morning golf though turned into a whole day thing. Especially since we met up with my in-laws in between for lunch. Urgh, let's just say that I cannot handle anyone being rude to a waiter. I was this close to getting up and walking out.
Anyway, my boys decided to go home with my in-laws. Tommie and I (of course with little Zander) finished the last 9 holes. It was fun. Even though we had to wait at every hole for the players in front of us, it gave us a lot of chance to just relax and chat.
Zander amazes me. Man he is such a good, calm baby. Between feeds, naps and waking you won't hear a peep out of him. Except for the occasional laugh. He is such an easy child. I totally love how he will just start laughing at the smallest of things - a shadow, a moving leave. So adorable.
Here's some photos of our day.
