I'm one lucky woman. I have a house full of men who think I'm the sun, the moon and the most beautiful woman to have ever walked the face of the earth. My husband also carries me on his hands.
I woke up this morning (like I do every Monday) with him already gone. He leaves just after 5 am on a Monday. Just like every other Monday, my coffee cup is taken out with everything mixed just as I like it. I just need to boil the water (again, as he boils it when he leaves) and pour it in. The boys bags are packed for school and their breakfast is on the counter, just needs milk. Their clothes are on our bed.
This while he is the one leaving early. He is the one who has to wake up at the crack of dawn. I don't know many other men who would do that. Even though Mondays are crazy for me (getting all three little guys ready in time to drop Quintus of at school is not easy), Tommie makes it SO easy on me. I love that guy a lot!
I'm also an extremely lucky woman as my dad has celebrated yet another birthday. May he have many many more. Happy happy happy birthday Daddy!
We have this tradition in our home, where we put flowers around the plate of the birthday guy/girl. We went to eat at our local nursery today and my mom secretly organized with the owner to put flowers around my dad's plate. I thought that was so special.

After a phone call from a friend last night, Tommie and I were discussing how one should handle it if one of your friends acts in a way that you don't agree with.
I'm from the view point that the person is a grown-up who can make his own choices. That I have no right to judge the person even if I don't agree. Even if I would not have made the same choices. I will most probably say that I would not have reacted the same way but I would not tell my friend how to act. It's not my decision to make.
This goes for my internet friends as well. I have many friends who I don't have much in common with but who I have grown to love regardless. Many of them have different lifestyles from mine and as long as they don't abuse anyone I will not tell them how to act.
Tommie says I'm just a coward and won't stand up for my believes lol I don't agree. My believe, morals, lifestyle is just that. MINE. Not someone else's. Just as I wouldn't want them to judge me on my relationships, the way I raise my kids, my choices, I won't judge theirs.
Anyway - this weekend has been super relaxing. The boys went to sleep over at my folks last night (except for Zander of course) and I used this opportunity to teach Zander to roll. YES at the ripe old age of 6 months he is still not rolling lol There are ways though! As you can see from this video clip. Excuse the quality. Night time is not the best time for taking videos.

This morning Zander and I have done nothing. We were still in our pajamas at 10 am. He took his morning nap and I took that time to do some girlie beauty routine. A bit later we will photograph a new baby at the hospital (I do a web page for one of our local hospitals). This afternoon we will probably go to the rugby field (of the school close to us) and the let boy run wild
Please do me a favour. Pretty please. Send me an e-mail. I would love to have the e-mail addresses of those reading my blog. That way if you ask me a question in the comments, I can reply to you via e-mail. I would also love to know who you are and where you are from. Many of you don't have the time to leave messages. I understand that. Just this once though - please e-mail me? meldebruyn @ telkomsa . net

Next week this time, we will be at Klein Kariba. Most probably in the indoor pool. Thinking of nothing but my family and having a good time. I can't wait. We are making our own long weekend out of Jason's birthday. We are taking next week Friday and then the Monday (Jay's birthday) off and will go to his favourite vacation resort. To say that I am looking forward to it, will be such an understatement. Before then though, I have to get a lot of work done. Some of which I'll be doing this weekend.
I really hope that I'll get to do some scrapbooking as well. I have been keeping a web page of the boys, which I update monthly. I write about their month and then add some photos. I've been doing this since Quintus as born. I would like to do a similar scrapbook for each child. A page for each month, where I write what they have done. Obviously with photos. So I'd love to start on that.
I feel tired tonight. I had a not-so-nice epileptic attack yesterday. One where I felt really bad afterwards. Even today I'm still feeling the after effects. I can't wait to go to bed and hopefully sleep late tomorrow. I will have to up my medication as soon as my doctor gets back on Monday.

My favourite time of the day is when the kids go to bed. No! Not like that. Not because of the peace and quiet!
I love the 15 minutes of "free" time when Tommie baths them. They then come and give me huge hugs and kisses, get into bed and wait for me to read for them. I sit on their bed, mostly read two stories (one chooses by each boy). Jason *always* chooses the three pigs. I have given the pigs each a name - my boys' names. Jason loves it. Quintus mostly chooses bible stories. He knows the bible way better than me. Then we talk about their day. I ask them to tell me about things they are thankful for. We pray, share more hugs and kisses and they go to sleep.
I just love our bedtime routine. Some nights (like tonight) I'll be busy working and take a bit longer to get to their room to do our bed time stories. As I went to their room tonight, I found Quintus under his duvet - fast asleep and I found Jason lying like this. I felt so bad for taking just that little longer than usual!

Jay doesn't like sports. He is not into it all. He started karate just before the schools close for the winter holidays, just to see if he would like it or not. I didn't have much hope to tell you the truth but he took such a liking to it, that even Quintus is now motivated again.
I must say that he looks darn cute in his karate outfit. We only got his cloths today. We wanted to be sure that he was actually going to do this before getting the cloths. There's something special about dropping your two boys off for a karate class. Seeing them walking in there together. (the fact that they will simultaneously get rid of excess energy is an added bonus!)
