Oh my first born. What a great little guy. He bought a chocolate and apologized to his teacher today. He behaved well. Explained to his friend that he is not allowed to go play at his house until they both behave better at school. He did me proud. My little six year old handled all of this with a mature attitude. I appreciate your comments. I'm sure that one of the little guys is just a boy doing naughty things every now and again. One is just naughty. Most of the time. He is not a close friend of Quintus but he is in the group. I have asked Quintus not to play with him again. We'll see how that goes. Quintus went to an occupational therapist last week. They needed him to do a school readiness test. His teacher was a bit worried that he loses concentration while working. Well, am I ever impressed with the little guy. He scored way above his age on most things. WTG my boy There were some areas that she wanted us to work on though. He didn't score badly in them but just less. However, he has low muscle tone. Now who would have known. This active guy? Who climbs trees, swings on the jungle gym. Well, from what she said it does make sense. His back and shoulder muscles aren't strong enough (and yes he crawled enough as a baby). This is causing him to battle to write for long periods. He also changes his grip on the pencil often as his wrist gets tired. So we'll be doing some fun activities to work on that. His dad took him out tonight. To spend some quality time together, while Jay and I are building puzzles. I watched Super Nanny tonight and man do I have well behaved little boys compared to those I saw tonight! And I thought I had to worry lol I should watch that program more! |
| mrs. diamond September 2, 2006 06:53 PM PDT i never thought of not crawling as being a reason for weak arms and shoulders. My mom says I never crawled as a baby........ just walked first. And I have always had weak arms and shoulders. Interesting And I'm proud of Quintus! | ||

| Jules September 1, 2006 11:13 PM PDT I couldn't believe those boys on Super Nanny either! I think it was mostly because the Mom didn't believe in herself enough to discipline them or play with them. Quite scary! You have nothing to worry about, Mel. You are a great, involved mommy - your boys are so lucky! | ||
